    C. This restaurant is near our house and we went for the first time this weekend. The food was good (but not excellent). We left a bit disappointing for the following reasons: - Service was a bit slow...it did not appear that the waitress was attentive as she should be. - There was dust on the ceiling fan above us, as well as dust on the upper level of the partition immediately adjacent to our table. Luckily the fan wasn't running at the time, but it made us wonder if dust was constantly being flung around the eating areas during breakfast/lunch service. - The carpeting around our table was unclean. The place is on par with other breakfast restaurants in the area, but it's not outstanding. Having been there once, I don't know that I would have a burning desire to go back.

Well this place isn't bad for a chain. plus they have breakfast, and occasionally you can get a groupon-type coupon to eat here. The last time my daughter and I went, they sent out the wrong food, and took a long time getting it right. The manager comped us the meal, so we used our coupon today that we had been planning to use then. today the food was good, hot, and on time... Like I say, not bad for a chain. Plus they have a brunch... that is worth an extra star right there.. BUT ... loudness level is kind of a problem for me...so if you have difficulty hearing, this might not be a good choice.

This place is charming and the food is fresh and delicious. I went here with a large group including 3 children under age 5. They were able to accommodate us with no trouble. I ordered the Maryland Benedict--crabcakes with eggs, which was an excellent flavor combination that I did not expect! My friend who is on a gluten free diet enjoyed her gluten-free pancakes (a rare find). There were several other enticing options on the menu (e.g., the Breakfast Banana Split), so I hope to find myself back here someday soon.

This place has good things and bad. Our first impression was awful because we had called in a reservation, walked in at our time, was going to be seated but since one person was running late, they wouldn't do it. They arrived two minutes later as we watched group after group get seated...I had to ask twice if we were soon since she had already crossed our name off. We were talking about leaving when we finally were seated. Service was good...food was okay. Probably won't be back to this one

I found the great deal on groupon and decided to visit this place on one of my pancakes craving morning. Oh my gosh.. I must say their signature fruit pancake was on point!! It was exactly what I had in my mind while ordering it. Beside that, I ordered their Veggie Omlete that came with delicious seasoned potatoes and english muffin. The only reason I am giving four stars is because their house blend coffee was so ordinary like other places. I was expecting something else. Other than that, brunch was scrumptious. My husband and I had a great time there and would definitely go back again.

I came here originally because it was just up the street from my apartment. While I am not a fan of coffee, my friend thought this was some of the best in the city. And apparently the man who fixed it was easy on the eyes. Bonus? Maybe. I've since been here at least 10 times and it is easily my favorite breakfast stop in Kansas City. My absolute favorite is the eggs benedict with spinach and hollandaise sauce although the banana walnut pancakes are a close second. They also have healthier options for those looking to save on some calories. Don't forget to use the FrontFlip app on your phone. We ended up winning a smoothie, $5 off our bill, and a free latte on different occasions. For warmer days, enjoy sitting beneath the rainbow umbrellas and being judged by conservative Johnson County. Yes!

This was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had... Including McDonalds. We sat in a packed waiting room for 45min... Which honestly attests to how badly the lay out of this restaurant is. The server was unhelpful when I asked to make changes to the breakfast. Once our food came out it was disappointing, Bland, and boring. My husband said his toast was the best part of the meal.... I will NEVER come here again!!!!

This was our second time visiting this location, and it will be our last. The first visit was horrible, but we always try places twice. The second visit was worse then the first. We ordered specialty coffee from their coffe shop to start things off. The drinks arrived 15 minutes later, and they had a strong burnt flavor. We notified the waitress, and she did not offer to have them remade. We next ordered breakfast, and when it arrived, my wife and I got our food, but they forgot to make our kids food, so we had to wait another 10 minutes until our kids food arrived. The good was sub-par. Their potatoes were raw, english muffins burnt, and crab dishes were immitation crab. Kids food was good when it arrived, but ours was horrible. Server asked how things were, we said "not good", she said ahh..and dropped the check for us to pay. She did not ask what was wrong, or if they could fix anything. Very disappointed with this experience.

This review is going to totally up my cool factor, but more on that part later. :D I stopped by Le Peep thinking it would be a good place for lunch to have a light sandwich or salad to counter my rich, but super delicious dinner from last night. I normally go for the Eggs Benedict here, but that would counter my goal. I looked through the sandwich and salad options and there are many excellent choices. I ended up going with a breakfast skillet.... I know... Le Peep does a lot of breakfast right, I have never really had a complaint, but the skillet today just didn't hit the standards I am use to. It had medium diced potatoes that tasted like they were seasoned with a typical season salt. Ok, but not outstanding. The skillet had ham, mushrooms, and cheese. This would have been ok, but the mushrooms were thrown on raw. This really took away from the "skillet" concept of everything being thrown together and cooked and they should have had a light sautee on them. My eggs were perfectly cooked over easy. The skillet generally comes with onions, but I asked for mine without. They either, cooked it close to one with onions, started to add onions and realized it didn't need them, or added them and picked most of them out. I wouldn't complain except I don't like raw onions and like the mushrooms, the onions don't appear to be cooked in with the rest and I got a few bites with raw pieces. The service was friendly, but not very attentive. Took my order, brought my food, checked to see if everything was ok at the same time of leaving my check half way through my meal, and that was it. Not bad, but leaves you feeling a little rushed. Although I was not impressed with today's skillet and wouldn't try it again, this is generally a solid breakfast/lunch stop with a nice selection for all tastes. The best part of my dining experience came not from the food, nor from the service, but from the overhead music. As I sat looking through the menu really trying to convince myself to go light and healthy the smooth sounds of England Dan and John Ford Coley vibrated my ear drums. It was hard not to start singing along. This was followed by the Bee Gees, Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, Chicago, BJ Thomas, and more awesome music! I really wanted to break out into a Ferris Buelleresque song and dance through the restaurant and across tables, but I had important things to do this afternoon and didn't have time to explain my motives to the popo. Next time! Five star Muzak!!!

It had been years since I ate at a Le Peep, but this morning I stopped at this location for breakfast with a visitor from out-of-town who was staying at a nearby hotel. I guess we got there at the right time, because we were seated immediately. Not long afterwards the place was packed, with people waiting for tables. Le Peep is one of those chains that's open for breakfast and lunch only, similar to First Watch. I liked the food at Le Peep better than at First Watch, which I thought was unbearably bland. I ordered a DIY omelette, with cheese, tomatoes and jalapeños, and it was definitely spicy! It came with "peasant potatoes," which probably came out of a freezer but were actually fairly tasty, and an English muffin. The coffee (served in a thermal pitcher left at your table so you can pour your own refills) was good. The out-of-town visitor ordered the lox and bagel plate, which came with a generous portion of smoked salmon, lettuce and tomato, capers, onion, etc., at a very reasonable price. Service was efficient and friendly. All in all it was good value and good food. I'd recommend it and would go back for breakfast next time I'm in that neighborhood.

Le Peep? Comme Ci, Comme Ça. Had breakfast with some friends for my first experience. What was right: the coffee bar (and the fact that my cohorts could have a mocha with breakfast)... the big glass windows... and the menu options. The basics like French toast and bacon/eggs are there, but so are crepes, apple spiced oatmeal, and scrambled eggs with artichokes and roasted tomatoes. So, why only 3 stars? The restaurant is a little difficult to navigate to and around; it's on the backside of a lot that's kinda hard to find. Inside, it's like a maze trying to figure out where you're seated. As for the food itself... I had the French toast, and it was... meh. The Peasant Potatoes were... meh. The scrambled eggs were... meh. You sense a pattern here? Our server was really attentive, and she does get points for that... and the fact that they have scanable QR coupons was also a plus (two of us got free smoothies out of the deal). But, at the same time -- stripped of the good company I was with, the breakfast itself was just OK. I'd totally go back for breakfast if it were suggested, but I can think of several other places in the immediate area that I'd recommend over here.

I had a groupon to use so I came over prior to teaching a board review course. Very friendly staff and good service. Food value is hit or miss I feel like. Some things are priced accordingly, but then, order a fruit parfait and it's like $5. You get a good amount of food though for your order, which is good if you're a big eater. A place to try out and definitely within walking distance to some of the hotels in the area.

LePeep spelled backward is Peepel... ...as in PEEPEL giving Le Peep three stars what the heck is wrong with you? High prices? Compared to BK's Dollar Menu? Portlanders line up in the rain for food that's half this good. I ordered the French Toast ($7.39) that had an amazing vanilla custard taste. It was so sweet I didn't even use syrup. Their house coffee ($2.25) is almost as good as Belaggio's buffet in Las Vegas. My friend ordered the Hen House ($7.99) and shared some of her sausage links, also called "bangers". These bangers were goooood! Bonus eco points for using fluorescent light bulbs in a few booths. It is odd to dine for breakfast in the same strip mall I make photocopies - that's the O.P. I guess? -1 Star: After your done eating your waitress brings you the ticket and you have to wait in a long line to pay a slow moving cashier. Why can't the wait staff handle this?

Here's what is a bit confounding about Le Peep...it's clearly a huge operation. Always busy - always smooth service and always good food. But what's a bit off is the decor and feel. The design is a bit of a 70s throwback and a bit mechanical. I feel that everything is on a system...i.e. waiter must come back twice during the meal to check in, table must be turned in x amount of time, and just like Denny's - you pay at the counter. The reason that I am willing to give it a 4th star is because of the diversity of the delicious menu, more than just fruit crepes, fresh-made smoothies, and consistency. I can deal with the strip mall location and throwback decor and mechanical service for that :-)

The pancakes were my dessert! First, you get a fluffy pancake that almost fills the plate. Then, after tasting it, you think you are eating dessert. I'm a pancake girl, and this is probably our favorite place to find a pancake that has the perfect texture (just a little crisp, but fluffy & moist inside-I know!) --- and tons of sweetness! Since the restaurant is only open through lunch, most of the things on the menu are breakfast related - omelets, skillets & egg dishes (there are some lunch offerings, too). Breakfast, my favorite meal! I asked our server, Shawn (military Veteran and from the south, so I wasn't offended that he repeatedly called me ma'am) - about modifying one of the dishes. After telling him that I wanted ham, bacon AND sausage on my omelet, he said something about Mrs. Piggy. At first I thought he felt that I was a bit greedy. As I started to explain that I just like a meaty omelet, he told me that that was the name of the omelet, "Mrs. Piggy". Ooooh. It was no longer on the menu, but he could get it for me anyway. Really? A server that took the time to talk to us AND find a way to get us what we really wanted AND, it was cheaper than the meal that I was looking to modify. Rare. My husband & I both thought that the omelet tasted wonderfully fresh. We discussed the difference, and determined that they must use real eggs. Plus, we loved the fact that there was a lot meat in it -- and cheese. Before we finished, we were trying to figure out when we could get back. We even found out Shawn's schedule so that we could be sure to get him as our server. It also helped that we had a Passport Unlimited card (buy one, get one free), so our meals were around $10.00 total, including tax! Perfection.

They're a Breakfast & Lunch only pad! A nice selection of variety! I enjoy the Dawn Breaker breakfast. Sometimes a little noisy, service is ok depending on server, but overall decent.

This is a decent place to get breakfast. I've been here several times, so something keeps me coming back. It gets busy on weekends and you'll have to wait a bit. If I remember correctly, there's a coffee bar at the front of the restaurant with free coffee offered and espresso drinks you can order.

Over the past ten+ years I've eaten at Le Peep more than a few times for lunch and, somewhat less frequently, for breakfast. The food is consistently pretty good and the service is generally quite friendly and helpful. I love the floor to ceiling windows which bring in lots of light. But I am less impressed with the chopped up feel of the room with it's warren of four foot high room dividers because I'm a real fan of "people watching". Our most recent visit the other day was validation that they are still doing a good job of offering an extensive selection of "breakfast" served any time and well after most places in that part of Overland Park have stopped serving breakfast and have moved on to lunch (except Denny's & the Pancake House). I ordered biscuits and gravy that was two full biscuits and lots of flavorful gravy with a little peppery kick and with a few chopped chives. It was described on the menu as "sausage gravy" but alas, I never found any bits of actual sausage in my serving and although I did enjoy the flavor of the chives, there were only about 5 actual bits of green so I had to make the best of what I had. ~sigh~ Hubby had the Omni (3 egg omelet) which was large and looked very good. It was served with potatoes that Hubs said were tasty and an English muffin. At $9.29 it is a little pricey. Our son-in-law, who was treating for breakfast, had the Belgian Waffle Combo that was a full waffle, two eggs and ham. It looked yummy and must have been because SIL cleaned his plate. Again the $8.59 made it not a bargain but it was a lot of food. All in all, you can't go wrong eating at Le Peep but do expect to pay for the privilege. I would have liked to have a juice but the 9 oz glass was roughly what I pay for a quart of juice at the grocery store and I guess I was just remembering that SIL was picking up the bill so I had a glass of water with lemon instead.

The food is decent - tasty and a good variety of breakfast fare. But the wait time, ownership and service is atrocious. A couple times we've been told a certain wait time and it's been at leadt double that. While waiting, you are crammed in a room with people coming in, people waiting, people trying to pay and people trying to get to their seats. The tables are smooshed in there which makes it loud and cramped. The owners or management seem to care nothing for the patrons and it seems to rub off on the staff with their indifference towards the patrons and their rush to get you out the door to turn over the table. I have been pleased with other Le Peep locations but after several disappointing visits, I will not go back.

I don't know why anyone would go here. The best I can say is that it wasn't horrible. But it was bland and unexciting and slightly overpriced for what you get. There are so many better options. I continue to be dumbfounded whenever anyone suggests Le Peep for breakfast/brunch. I guess some people just have bad taste.

If you want a place with a commercial feel and a huge menu then this is the place to go. I honestly enjoy the sandwiches for lunch here more then I like breakfast here. I wish there were less options because I am a person that has trouble deciding. The crepes were overly sweet for my taste. I just feel lackluster about this place but it is decent food. It feels like a place for people with larger groups that have more picky eaters amongst them. There is always a huge line for breakfast here on the weekend and it is my least favorite place in Overland park to go for breakfast. Service here is good. I would suggest trying this place more for lunch and go to Room 39 or Urban Table for breakfast.

Service was decent. It gets crowded on a Sunday morning so get there early or later for brunch. If you order crepes, it's not the traditional thin delicate pancakes wrapped with whipped cream and fruits. Instead, it's actually omelet. So, that was a surprise, I guess I must not have read the menu thoroughly. Not sure if I was a big fan of it. Those who are big eaters, the country fried steak will definitely fill you up very quickly! Also, don't order a glass of juice. It's much more worth it if you ordered a half or full gallon of juice. Last but not least, i was dissapointed that I sat on a chair that had honey on the back of the chair, so my shirt got all sticky. When I tried to swap chair with the one next to me, the other chair had oil on the chair. It wasn't pleasant to eat in a place that wasn't completely clean, so for those of you visiting this place, take a double look at where you are sitting to see if there are any grease stains.

Went here today with two friends after a meeting for lunch/brunch. Their breakfast menu is extensive, for which I am grateful. Breakfast is my FAVORITE meal of the day so I am always looking for good breakfast fare. La Peep did not disappoint. They also have a smaller lunch menu, so all three in our party were able to find delicious food. La Peep also has an excellent coffee bar, so I was able to get a decent latte, which was served in a cappuccino cup complete with saucer and spoon. It had a lovely design on the foam and was full bodied and bold, just the way I like my lattes. For breakfast/lunch, I had the lumberjack and upgraded my plain pancakes to blueberry pancakes. They were delicious and light with LOTS of blueberries, an adequate amount of butter, and some blueberry compote too boot, in addition to the syrup. The lumberjack also comes with potatoes, which were perfect with just the addition of a little table salt, two eggs, which I had served over easy, and two slices of crisp and thick bacon. I left satisfied and full. The icing on the cake was the fact that it was nice enough to eat el fresco and there was plenty of comfortable seating which allowed the sunshine to hit our back while preventing the sun from causing us to squint. My dining companions had the Eggs Benedict, which looked delicious and is a La Peep specialty and a BLT sandwich, which looked delicious. Water with a touch of lemon is served and we were well cared for, even on the patio, by an attentive wait staff. It was just a lovely brunch. I will be back.

The small, breakfast-themed eatery Le Peep is located in the small shopping center on the northwest corner of the College/Metcalf intersection, near Applebee's, Panera, and Korma Sutra. It is a convenient place for me to visit for lunch, as I work in a nearby office at this intersection. This does not feel like a chain restaurant, so it has a very homegrown and 'make yourself at home' feel to it. The décor is somewhat outdated and appears low budget, unfortunately. It seems to have a primary customer base of senior citizens. When I arrived for lunch around 11:40, there was a wait of several people. The manager was easily identifiable and stepped in to help seat tables with the lunch rush. The open floor seating made for a noisier than usual dining experience. Prices are lower than average for your typical lunch around here. I was able to get brunch and a special espresso drink for about $13. There are menu combos as low as $5 and a la carte items in the $2-3 range. Service was very quick, friendly, and helpful. The waitress I had was very attentive and kindly. My food came in about five minutes, before my espresso even arrived at the table. The menu is unsurprisingly centered around eggs, though they have other selections. I enjoy eggs but I generally prefer mine fluffier than the ones served here - they were somewhat unremarkable, which I did not expect from a place with a focus on eggs. The peasant potatoes are very delicious. The espresso is a step up from your typical Starbucks/Panera coffees, though not anything mindblowing. I think Le Peep could benefit from some updates to its presentation and interior storefront, but that is just a minor complaint. It is a great place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, and has great value for what you get.

While breakfast may be the most simple of meals, it seems to be one of the biggest draws for diners when they venture out on the weekend. Le Peep is a really simple, yet effective place to grab breakfast, brunch, and lunch nearly any day of the week. I had the breakfast sandwich on sourdough. While my egg didn't quite fill the massive pieces of bread, I was able to trim them to have a simple, good breakfast sandwich. The keep a pot of coffee and a pitcher of water on the table. If you want to pony up $20 for a simple meal for two, but all means, you can find something here that you'd like. Their menu is huge.

Peasant potatoes? More like unpleasant potatoes, at least until adding liberal amounts of salt and hot sauce. Other than that, the food is astonishingly average and overpriced. Contrary to some other experiences reported here, from what I've seen service is ok--no harried servers rushing around in freakout mode, at least. There are a ton of places in town with better food and more reasonable prices. I can't think of any reason to eat at Le Peep, unless those other places burn down.

I suppose I'll stick with 4 stars, but I swear every time I come here there's something just not quite right. They take one step forward and 2 steps back. No towels in the bathroom and water all over sink. Gross. Our waiter, Brian, was awesome, but the cashier took people who'd waited less time than I had. Annoying and rude. Why don't they let us pay at the table like almost every other restaurant? It's very odd and outdated. Still ticked off at how I was treated the last time I came here, but the service today was excellent, our server Katie was absolutely perfect, and the food was delicious. And the coffee- oh my goodness. Amazing! I got the Tuscan Afternoon latte- such a treat! They have one of those Front Flip things you can scan to see if you win anything, & I did! My latte ended up being free. Woohoo!

This place sucks. Biscuits and "gravy" which had basically no sausage in it and was closer to milk than gravy. Biscuits were hard. Super dry scrambled eggs. Boring potatoes. The best thing I can say about the food is that it was edible and provided my body with energy. I can make better breakfast at home in less time for far less $. There are about 50 better breakfast options in KC so do not waste time at this garbage place.

This is a good breakfast/brunch spot, just not overwhelmingly good. I had the Dawn Breaker, which is scrambled eggs with mushrooms and bacon, topped with cheese, tomatoes and green onions. Basically a deconstructed omelet. I asked for no bacon and about midway through discovered it did have bacon in it. At that point, I wasn't going to alert our server for a new dish as I was with coworkers who were already well into their meals. However, I still enjoyed the dish. It also came with an English muffin and peasant potatoes. I'm a big fan of potatoes, but these did not have a lot of flavor to them and seemed to be of the frozen variety. I could be wrong, but with the popularity of farm to table restaurants who locally source their food, I find I can quickly spot restaurants whose food comes off the Sysco truck. Our service was excellent. We sat on the patio and it seemed as if a big rain was coming, so our server helped us move our table further in so we wouldn't get wet. She was very attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and they offer items on their menu I haven't seen at other breakfast restaurants.

Negative points - when we walked in the door, there seemed to be no organized check in (-1) - water glasses a little dirty (-.5) - hot chocolate arrived cold (-.5) - syrup arrived hot immediately after ordering; however, food did not arrive until about 20 to 25 minutes later (-1) Positive points - raspberry iced tea arrived quickly, was tasty and a refill came with the original glass (+1) - food was good (+1), but was cold/barely warm (-.5) Overall score: 3.5/5

This is getting 2 stars for customer service by 98% of their staff. We arrived on a Saturday after the March of Dimes walk downtown, we had our dog, Bella Wella with us. There was a line at the door and when I put my name in I specifically said I wanted an outside table, due to the dog. They said that would be fine. GREAT! They told me a 20-30 minute wait, 40 minutes goes by and we see at least 3 empty cleared outdoor tables and the two young workers inside just staring at the wait list inside. I send Jason in and tell him to ask them, he goes and they say we have 3 people ahead of us. At this point the outdoor tables have been open for over 15 minutes. I am ready to just call it quits. The "chef" finally comes out and takes control back and we get seated immediately. He had a great personality and was very friendly. I give him 5 stars. The food is fine, I didn't try their gluten free waffles or bread, the bread is Udi's-YUCKKKKKK. We both had skillets, they came out tasting fine. Jason's chorizo was better then mine. They needed more bacon in mine. I asked for a side of sour cream and salsa and got charged .80 cents just for sour cream. We got fruit on the side instead of bread, we literally got 4 small chunks of fruit......... We may go back to try the gluten free waffle, but I will speak up sooner with their lack of customer service AND the fact that some 17 year old's don't know how to read a wait list... They do offer groupons frequently. The outdoor seating is not the most comfortable-iron chairs and table.

Overcooked food Overpriced Menu Overlooked business: Even the latte's milk foam was dumped in a cup like a pile of waste. Wouldn't recommend to dine here at any time of the day. This place is conveniently located in the plaza close to hotels and other food options. Lured by good reviews and recommendation from my colleague I've had a breakfast here. I was excited about French cuisine Le Peep claims to have and ordered a coffee latte + Eggs Benedict with salmon. That's what I've got: A coffee cup with latte where milk was dumped on top like a pile of litter. Forget the flowers and hearts baristas are laying out in the cups! This was a first sign that nobody cares about the food/drinks at this place. Unfortunately, I had a very limited time and stayed to try the failed attempt on Eggs Benedict. I got a plate with cold potatoes, open biscuit bread, huge overcooked salmon piece, as if I was ordering a dinner for two. This culinary mistake was topped by two soft boiled eggs unevenly distributed as if a two year old toddler cooked those. Why in the name of chefs don't you have a timer, dear Le Peep cooks? Or an access to the YouTube channel that can teach you to poach eggs For Free?! Why are you using a piece of huge salmon steak, overcook it and try to place it on the small bread biscuits? Can peasants potatoes be at least hot when you serve the dish? The overall atmosphere at Le Peep's is also lacking. Servers aren't attentive, counter isn't welcoming, the decor is old but isn't charming. Dear, or dear... Needless to say it was one of the worst breakfast I had. I wouldn't recommend this place to those who respect their taste buds.

Went here on a Sunday around 11am while traveling by myself. It was also Father's Day. Not the best idea I've ever had, but I bought a Groupon I needed to use. I arrived to a packed waiting area, not too surprised. I was told the wait would be 30-35 minutes. It was actually 45, probably a little longer. I was seated and ordered a specialty latte and an egg white omelette (the "white lightning"). The latte came in about 20 minutes, the food shortly thereafter. I would have liked the latte right away, which was definitely possible. The coffee station was right next to the waiting area and they did not appear very busy. My latte was pretty good. Not the best, but I've had worse. The omelette was not great. The chicken in the omelette was either canned or not fresh, and there was barely any in it. The green chiles were definitely canned, same with the salsa. I can imagine Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey eating this meal with looks of disgust on their faces. The fruit that came with the meal was fine. The toast was the best part of the meal. My server was nice enough, but visibly frazzled from how busy it was. I will not return to this restaurant.

I have been to Le Peep at the Quivira location a number of times and I've always thought the service was good, the value was okay and the food was above average, especially for late breakfast or brunch. Three weeks ago, we had a Groupon (I know, right? He's got a Groupon again...) and so we loaded up the Caddy and went zooming down I-35 South from the Strawberry Hill 'hood and that was our first mistake. Everytime we want to go down to the Sunflower State 'burbs, y'all crash your cars or semis dump tons of garbage, livestock or dangerous chemicals on the highway and so...here we find ourselves, looking at Facebook and e-mail on the iPhone while we sit and watch the Caddy start to overheat. Poor old bag of bolts. She just got hotter and hotter like she was on her 15th year of untreated menopause. I mean the poor ole lady was burnin' up. So, to add insult to injury, we had to pull her off the highway and let her chillax for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, we received the cursory indignant stares from thousands of disapproving suburbanites as the Dottes sat stoically in their Caddy while the windows fogged up and we started doing our Cheech and Chong, Up in Smoke Act (not really...come on!). I know...get on to the eats. So, needless to say. We didn't make Le Peep that Sunday. A week later, very much determined...we attempted the journey again, this time opting for the College Blvd venue and avoiding the mother of all suicide highways altogether. Like Ward and June Cleaver, we coasted lazily down Metcalf on a warm, sunny, breezy Sunday afternoon arriving at Le Peep only to discover the Church Crowd was there. I mean, the place was packed! Surprisingly, we did not have to wait the estimated 20-30 minutes. Probably more like 10 or 12 minutes. We had a rather saucy server who took our drink orders and gave us our menues and she informed me that I would have to sing Desperado for my meal. This was because my brunch selection was the Desperado. I started out the meal with a deliciously, rich mug of mocha almond latté which was absolutely delicious. I sipped on it slowly, savoring each drop and committing the experience to memory so I might order this fantabulous beverage again. My dining companion had chicken fried steak and eggs. I was surprised that the sausage gravy was rather bland and hardly any sausage flavor or sausage bits were to be found in the gravy. If they used the fat from the cooked sausage, one surely couldn't taste it. As I said previously, I ordered the Desperado. This was like a skillet with the peasant potatoes, chorizo, green chiles, onions, salsa and then cheese and two eggs which I ordered over medium because over easy eggs are too "snotty" but I like the yolks to run freely! This is served with toast or English muffin. I opted for English muffin. Too bad they don't serve with a warm tortilla or two. I thought the combination of flavors was very tasty and satisfying. As I expected, it was not very spicy but that's to be expected at Le Peep, nothing that could possibly suprise or offend and that's fine. Le Peep is not exactly an adventure but in my opinion is consistently pleasant and benign and for a leisurely Sunday, this place hits the spot. Some say the breakfasts are a bit pricey but I don't agree. They cost more than slumming it down at the Awful (I mean Waffle House...which also has its great moments...) but, you know, that's where you draw the line. You get what you pay for and Le Peep provides a very pleasant and comfortable atmosphere, quick and timely service, pleasant and professional service and a consistently pleasant meal with enough variety to keep one's interest piqued. It's nice also, to have the varieties of coffees, lattés, cappucinos, etc. Overall, Le Peep is above average and a nice treat on a Sunday afternoon. If I were a man of leisure, I should like to visit this venue during the week as I have First Watch. Maybe I'll do that when I have some time off later in the year.

I'm kind of shocked by the bad reviews of this place. Maybe I'm too easy but breakfast and brunch are pretty hard to mess up on. It's eggs people. I have a group of gals that go to brunch most Sundays and last weekend we decided on Le Peep. It was a little random but the food was great. My skillet thing was huge and the pancake that we ordered for the table was really probably the best pancake I've had in a long time. The decor is a little odd though. Someone clearly needs to update this place and get rid of all of the lattice work. Our server was friendly and helpful. I think this is not a place to order a latte...seems like disappointment waiting to happen BUT the kitchen clearly knows how to make eggs. Hence the name...

I had an absolutely wonderful time here on a brunch date with my significant other. The service was wonderful, and the the coffee was even better ( I would highly recommend the turtle latte for coffee lovers out there). Our server was peppy and full of spunk and even wrote a note on our ticket about how much she appreciated us. The food was not the best I've had, the eggs are really my only complaint. I ordered mine over medium (I understand it is slightly difficult to get those perfect ) and my date got poached potatoes and neither of the orders were fully cooked. The peasant potatoes on the other hand are delicious and filling. For those of you out there who also use front flip, I checked in using that and got one of the two entrées for free, making a fairly adorable brunch date even more affordable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a quaint brunch experience for a fairly decent price.

Great food. Desperado was excellent. We also had 2 gluten free Belgian waffles and they were fantastic too. GF waffles and pancakes never seem to have a good taste but they were the best we have had. We waited outside due to a long line and crowded entry. Unfortunately we couldn't hear our name called. Would suggest trying to improve the system for calling customers, but certainly not a reason to give them a lower score. Great breakfast. Ready to go back tomorrow!

Breakfast, brunch or lunch is fine-how do you mess it up ? Service is fast and prices are reasonable. Seems to be Favorite because always busy & especially lot of business people. Waitstaff is friendly & does a nice job. Always enjoy LaPeep!

This place was unacceptable. Came here for the first time with my girlfriend, both of us disliked our selections intensely. To make worse, it was very expensive. $21 dollars for two people at breakfast? The service was bad as well. The coffee was clearly a floor brand. I would avoid this place at all costs. Seriously, fast food is better.

I didn't hate Le Peep, but I wasn't exactly thrilled with it either. I had a pretty basic breakfast, and it was good, not great. The food wasn't anything grand or amazing. Just eh. I ordered a juice, because the menu stated they did fresh squeezed juices. This was not a fresh squeezed juice. Not that it tasted bad, but I wouldn't have ordered it if I would have known it would have came out that way. We had a group of 5, and they sat us at a 6 person table. If any of us had been larger it would have been downright miserable. We were bumping elbows the whole time. The saving grace for Le Peep was that I noticed groupon had a $7 for $15 deal that I was able to get for $2(had previous groupon credit) while I was at the table, and use right there. So I ended up paying $11 with tip for 2 meals. Not much to complain about there. If you want to check out Le Peep I'd suggest picking up a groupon. I'd have been disappointed if I would have spent $26 on that meal.

A friend and I recently went out for breakfast and decided to try Le Peep instead of First Watch, where would normally have gone for a nice breakfast in the area. The shopping plaza Le Peep is located in isn't necessarily the nicest in town, but they make up for it with cheery rainbow-colored umbrellas on their outdoor tables. The internal decor is just as cheerful, with a sort of spring-time-and-flowers type theme and huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The tables are separated from one another with imitation picket fencing, giving the feel and privacy of sitting in a booth. All the staff we encountered were friendly, and our service was relatively fast. I got a latte, which was perfectly hot and creamy, and was a solid 12 oz at the smallest size. When the food arrived my friend's dish had a mistake, which the waitress apologized for a promptly took back to the kitchen. The dish was brought back out (this time everything was perfect) about 5 minutes later by the manager, who apologized again. I ordered eggs topped with tomatoes, chives, bacon, and cheese. My main dish was delicious, with a generous amount of toppings. The sides of potatoes and toast that came along with my meal were also a very good size, no skimping here. Overall Le Peep was a great experience, and the price was great. My whole meal came out to less than $15, including tip. The staff was very pleasant and they were quick and happy to fix a mistake.

Came here Easter Sunday with two friends. Very long wait at 25 minutes, which was expected if the food quality is good, and also given it's Easter. Ordered 18 wheeler, omelet, and country friend steak. The food was priced slightly higher than IHOP and dennys, and it took about 15 minutes for it to arrive. Country friend steak was very average. Came with 2 eggs sunny side up (you can't possibly fuck that up), and a very small portion of average tasting potatoes. steak and potatoes were definitely pre frozen and they just heat that shit up before serving. Biscuit with country gravy was COLD. Friend had 18 wheeler - 3 sausages, french toast, eggs, potatoes. Again, all very average. Omelet was downright nasty. Half cold when arrived. Side of bacon was cold and slightly bitter. Also had a cup of hot chocolate, which she said was decent. Total cost came to $45. I don't understand why there's a line of people waiting to eat here. Is Overland Park short on breakfast restaurants, or do people here have absolutely no standard when it comes to food?

Been to Le Peep maybe 5 times, twice for breakfast, 3 times for lunch. Breakfast is okay to fair, no real complaints, attentive service, liked the Eggs Benedict & coffee is good. A little slow in the service department, or rather clunky. Lunch is a different matter; it's real basic, & not very good. How do you screw up a patty melt? Drown it in cheese (didn't seem to taste like swiss cheese either), and add a minimum of grilled onions. Absolutely tasteless patty, and not even think to add mustard on it. When I requested mustard, it took 6 minutes for the waitress to return with it. You can't order french-fries here, they have instead waffle-fries, which were popular for 10 minutes in 1976. Odd place, nice people, but somewhat pricey, clunky, and no energy, as if the world slows down inside Le Peep.

I like this place. It's a bit expensive, but their omlettes are very good. It definitely caters to the hearing-aid-and-orthopaedic-shoe crowd: Don't come here looking for a pick-up or good optics unless a 79-year old is your taste. Service was prompt and efficient. They give you a caraffe of soda, which is a nice touch instead of having to chase the waitress down for a refill. The home fries were excellent. I almost gave it a 4, and I would have if their prices were closer to a Bob Evans' or Denny's, but it was $14 (with tip) for an omlette and a soft drink.

I'm a little bit Le Pissed at Le Peep. The food is probably slightly better than two stars - but the fact that they've raised the prices on most menu items without reprinting the menu or even mentioning the price change is enough to keep me from going back. It's not the money, people, it's the principle. Your bacon may be crispy, and your French toast may be delicious, but if you're going to charge more for each of them than you're advertising, you need to tell me about it.

LePeep is a great place to get breakfast in a relaxed and friendly setting. I went to LePeep for breakfast and the menu offers wide array of choices and reads almost like a cookbook with each item described with delicious detail. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items as well. The food was served hot, fresh and prompt. I recommend the new Almond Cranberry Pancakes they are fluffy and delicious. I enjoyed my experience at LePeep and I would love to go back to try out their lunch ad dinner menus as well.

I've had better for breakfast\ brunch fare but this was okay. The spinach crepes benedict and the french toast are the only two items that I have had here, nothing really spectacular but has been pretty good. The french toast came with fruit but the serving of fruit was so small that it didn't even cover two slices of my french toast. The crepes were pretty good, nothing to write home about. On Sunday this particular location of Le Peep gets busy after 9:00 am so it is best to eat early if you can avoid the crowds, they also have a frequent eaters card, if you purchase six meals then you get one for free.

Leep Peep is a brunch restaurant with a couple of locations in the area and I can say from experience that this is a super busy, but worth it location. The restaurant is laid out like a big upside down L with tables strategically placed along the floor plan. They do a good job using their space and are able to seat a good amount of people without making any of the tables feel like their on top of each other. The menu features a good amount of breakfast and lunch options. It's not super fancy so if you can think of a normal breakfast or lunch dish then it's probably on the menu. I will say I was pleasantly surprised to see the "Maryland Benedict," that included the crabcakes. That was a nice touch. I've never had a bad meal here. The servers are quick to talk to you, take your order and make sure your meal is progressing like it should. Like I mentioned earlier, this is a busy location so be prepared to wait until you're seated, but trust me, the wait will be worth it. Enjoy.

I had the blueberry granola pancakes and they were really good. I didn't care for the breakfast potatoes, they were bland and not crispy enough. My sister and mom enjoyed their meals as well.

Decent brunch spot, but it doesn't wow me. I've been here a couple of times when I had great service & a yummy Benedict. I've also been here a couple of times when I had a solidly mediocre meal & felt ignored by the server. As a result, I always feel like we're rolling the dice when someone suggests it. Not in a hurry to come back....

The food is very good. Beware when ordering extra - I ordered hash browns instead of the peasant potatoes and it was an extra .49 cents. To add onions in the hash brows was an extra .99 cents.
